Abstract

DBpedia extracts structured data such as geodata from Wikipedia and links it with many other open data sources. For spatial data, it is linked to GeoNames, and we are actively working on a mapping to OpenStreetMap which should be available soon. The application "DBpedia Mobile" creates rich area maps based on geodata, categories and types that DBpedia extracted from Wikipedia, and allows to discover related content from various open data sources. Furthermore, the application allows to issue sophisticated geospatial queries over Wikipedia data, such as to visualize all train stations of a specific line.
