Abstract

This panel will discuss the issues involved in sharing contents across OER sites powered by WikiMedia platforms. Currently WikiEducator, OLPC, CK-12 Foundation use MediaWiki as the collaborative platform for creating contents and storing images. Even though these organizations are willing to share their OER materials, differences in regard to license compatibility, metadata interoperability, and content/multimedia formats prevent collaboration across. The panelists will discuss about these issues and recommend a potential solution to share their materials within their organizations, as well as with other organizations using MediaWiki platforms.
